  • Steering wheel upgrades
  • Ambient lighting
  • Other vehicle interior electronic upgrades

All installations are carried out with reasonable care and skill.

2. Deposits & Payment

A deposit is required when placing an order with AA Car Customs.

As AA Car Customs is a small business, equipment is ordered specifically based on each customer's individual order.

Once a deposit has been paid and the order has been placed, the deposit is non-refundable.

The deposit is used towards ordering the equipment required for the customer's installation and may also cover costs already incurred by AA Car Customs.

The remaining balance must be paid in cash on the day of installation, unless another payment method has been agreed with AA Car Customs beforehand.

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights the customer may have under UK law.

3. Equipment & Compatibility

AA Car Customs will make reasonable efforts to ensure that equipment supplied is suitable for the customer's vehicle based on the information provided.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate vehicle information, including the correct make, model, year and specification.

Where equipment has been ordered based on incorrect information supplied by the customer, AA Car Customs cannot be held responsible for incompatibility resulting from that incorrect information.

4. Installation

All installations are carried out with reasonable care and skill.

Vehicle electronics can vary depending on the vehicle's age, specification, condition, previous modifications and existing wiring.

AA Car Customs cannot be held responsible for faults that were present in the vehicle before installation or faults caused by previous aftermarket modifications, wiring, repairs or other work carried out by third parties.

If an existing fault becomes apparent during or after installation, AA Car Customs will advise the customer where reasonably possible.

5. Warranty – 12 Months

AA Car Customs provides a 12-month warranty on applicable parts and equipment supplied and installed by AA Car Customs.

The warranty is automatically active from the date of installation. Customers do not need to register or activate the warranty.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults occurring under normal use, subject to the terms and exclusions below.

6. First 6 Months – Parts & Labour Fully Covered

For the first 6 months from the date of installation, any covered fault or manufacturing defect will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

This includes:

  • Replacement parts
  • Diagnosis of the covered fault
  • Removal of the faulty equipment
  • Repair or replacement
  • Refitting and installation labour

This coverage applies where the fault is not caused by physical damage, misuse, tampering, third-party work or any other warranty exclusion.

7. Months 7–12 – Parts Covered Only

For the following 6 months (months 7–12), covered replacement parts will be supplied free of charge.

Labour is not included during this period.

The customer will therefore be responsible for any labour charges relating to:

  • Diagnosis
  • Removal
  • Fitting
  • Refitting
  • Reinstallation
  • Wiring or repair work

Where a replacement part is required, AA Car Customs can provide the covered replacement part to the customer.

The customer may choose to have the replacement part fitted by another qualified installer at their own cost.

8. Wiring & Installation Warranty

Where a warranty fault relates to a part or component, AA Car Customs can supply the replacement part in accordance with the applicable warranty period.

Where the fault relates to wiring or the original installation rather than a replaceable part, AA Car Customs may need to inspect and carry out the necessary wiring or installation work.

The customer may choose to have wiring or installation work carried out elsewhere.

However, if another installer or third party damages, alters, cuts, modifies or interferes with the equipment or wiring, this may void the warranty, particularly where the third-party work has caused or contributed to the fault.

9. Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Physical damage
  • Cracked or broken screens
  • Water or liquid damage
  • Damage caused by impact or dropping
  • Damage caused by misuse or incorrect use
  • Damage caused by an accident
  • Damage caused by another installer or third party
  • Damaged, cut or altered wiring
  • Unauthorised modifications
  • Tampering with the equipment or installation
  • Third-party repairs
  • Faults caused by other vehicle components
  • Pre-existing vehicle faults
  • Damage caused by neglect or improper care

Any physical damage to the equipment may void the warranty.

AA Car Customs reserves the right to inspect the equipment and installation before confirming whether a warranty claim is covered.

10. Warranty Claims

If a fault develops within the 12-month warranty period, the customer should contact AA Car Customs as soon as reasonably possible.

AA Car Customs may require the vehicle or equipment to be inspected before a warranty claim is approved.

If the fault is confirmed to be covered by the warranty, the applicable warranty terms will apply depending on whether the fault occurs within the first 6 months or months 7–12.

The warranty does not cover additional work or modifications requested by the customer that are unrelated to the original fault.

11. Vehicle Condition & Pre-Existing Faults

The customer accepts that the vehicle may have existing electrical, mechanical or software faults that are unrelated to the installation.

AA Car Customs cannot be held responsible for pre-existing faults, intermittent faults or faults that develop independently of the work carried out.

12. Customer Data & Settings

Customers are responsible for backing up any personal data, settings, contacts or other information stored on their vehicle or existing equipment before installation.

AA Car Customs cannot be held responsible for loss of personal data or settings resulting from the installation, removal or replacement of equipment.

13. Installation Appointments

Customers should arrive at the agreed appointment time with the vehicle available and accessible for the agreed installation.

If a customer fails to attend an appointment or cancels at short notice, AA Car Customs may require a new deposit or charge reasonable costs already incurred before arranging another appointment.

14. Additional Work & Changes

Any additional work, upgrades or changes requested after the original quotation has been agreed may incur additional charges.

Additional work will normally be agreed with the customer before it is carried out.

15. Removal of Existing Equipment

If existing aftermarket equipment needs to be removed before installation, any additional labour or costs will be explained to the customer where reasonably possible before the work is carried out.

16. Invoices & Proof of Purchase

Customers may request an invoice for their installation.

The invoice will show the relevant work and equipment supplied and, where applicable, confirmation of the 12-month AA Car Customs warranty.

17. Payment & Completion

The customer is responsible for paying the agreed remaining balance once the installation has been completed, subject to any agreed arrangements.

The customer should inspect the installation and equipment before leaving and raise any immediate concerns with AA Car Customs.

18. Statutory Rights

These terms and conditions do not affect or limit any legal rights the customer has under applicable UK consumer law.

Where a customer has a statutory right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or restricted, that right will continue to apply.

19. Acceptance of Terms

By paying a deposit, placing an order or proceeding with an installation, the customer confirms that they have had the opportunity to read and understand these Terms & Conditions and agrees to them, subject always to their statutory rights.

AA Car Customs reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions where necessary.
